The Office of English Dictum has officially updated the old saying "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" to "A breast in the hand is worth two in the bra". The OFD cites recent studies that show that using traditional sayings is not popular with the newer generation of teenagers. Using simpler language with words that are frequently used by young people has been found to incite a more frequent use of a dictum in everyday conversations. The new rule goes into effect on September 1 2016. DL.
