Oilers trade 1st overall pick

The Edmonton Oilers announced today that they will be potentially be trading their 1st overall pick. The most likely candidate for this trade will be the Chicago Blackhawks. The Oilers are waiting for the Chicago Blackhawks to end their season before confirming the trade. Since the Blackhawks are in a cap tight situation, the trade will involve players and picks. In exchange for the 1st overall pick, the Blackhawks will be sending over; Patrick Sharp, Brent Seabrook, Johnny Oduya, Scott Darling, and their 1st round pick (30th overall) also as a part of the trade, Peter Chiarelli will have a day with the Stanley Cup. Here is GM Chiarelli's comments regarding this trade: "we need experience, and they need to shed cap. We find this will fit both our teams perfectly, especially that I get to spend a day with the cup, it might be the only chance I ever get!"
